Dear Phillip,

Let's talk about old times, okay?

I like you, Phil.

You might wonder what I mean, saying something like that so suddenly, but ever since we first met, I've envied you and admired you. You're smart, you're well-versed in mirristry, and even though you can be a little scatterbrained about some things, you have the strength to meet your goals head-on.

The way I'm writing this, it sounds like a love letter! ...You're laughing, right?

So... even though something like that happened, I still love you dearly. That won't ever change.

I wish I'd said this sooner. I really wanted to talk to you face-to-face, but I didn't think you'd want that, so I decided to put it in a letter instead.

Why you did that... I don't really know why, but I think you probably wanted to change something. Because if you were that serious, you must have been really lost back there. If what I'm imagining is right, Phil, it's okay. If it's you, you can definitely change it -- whether it's yourself or anything else.

But I also like you as you are now. So whatever you decide to be, it doesn't make a difference. Every version of Phil is my best friend.
